What Are Claude's Finance Agents?
Anthropic just released 10 new AI agent templates built specifically for financial work. They're called Claude Finance Agents and they live inside Claude — Anthropic's AI platform.
They're not generic chatbots. Each one has a specific job, a specific input, and a specific output. Here's everything you need to know, starting with how to actually get them.
Step 1: How to Access the Finance Agents (Complete Beginner Guide)
There are two ways in, depending on whether you want the simple browser version or the more powerful developer version.
Option A — Claude Cowork (Easiest, No Coding Required)
This is the browser-based version. Best for most people.
- Step 1: Go to claude.ai and sign up or log in
- Step 2: You'll need a paid Claude plan (the agents aren't available on the free tier)
- Step 3: Inside Claude, open Settings → Plugins → Add Plugin
- Step 4: Paste in this URL:
https://github.com/anthropics/financial-services - Step 5: A marketplace list will appear — pick the agents you want
- Step 6: Once installed, the agents appear in your Claude workspace and activate automatically when relevant
That's it. No coding. No downloads. Just a browser and a paid Claude account.
Option B — Claude Code (For Tech-Savvy Users)
If you're comfortable with a terminal, this unlocks more power:
- Step 1: Install Claude Code and add the marketplace with:
claude plugin marketplace add anthropics/financial-services
- Step 2: Install the core skills first:
claude plugin install financial-analysis@claude-for-financial-services
- Step 3: Install the specific agents you want, e.g.:
claude plugin install market-researcher@claude-for-financial-services
- Step 4: Agents are now live in your session with slash commands like
/dcf,/earnings,/comps
All 10 Anthropic Finance Agents

- Equity Research — Full sell-side analyst workspace: earnings, initiating coverage, screening, and sector analysis in one place

- Meeting Preparer — Assembles briefs on clients and counterparties ahead of calls and meetings
- Valuation Reviewer — Checks valuations against comparables and internal firm review standards
- General Ledger Reconciler — Reconciles GL accounts and runs net asset value calculations
- Month-End Closer — Runs the close checklist, prepares journal entries, and produces close reports
- KYC Screener — Parses onboarding documents, runs compliance rules, and flags gaps for review
One Honest Caveat
These agents eliminate the grunt work — the hours spent parsing transcripts, scanning headlines, and building spreadsheets from scratch. But they don't replace judgment.
The Earnings Reviewer can tell you what management said. It can't tell you whether to trust them. The Model Builder builds the valuation. It can't tell you whether the assumptions make sense for that specific business.
What you do with the output still matters. But at least now you have the output — and that used to be the hardest part.
